Bitcoin Halving 2020: What's All The Fuss About?
Will the next BTC halving spark a bull run, or fizzle?
It’s 2020 and hindsight may not be that valuable. Bitcoin prognosticators have looked at history and seen halvings as catalysts for bull runs. But it’s only happened twice. That’s hardly enough data to draw a conclusion. Nevertheless, the market is full of optimism as we enter this new year and move forward toward the third halving, expected to take place in May. Will it catapult the crypto markets into a new bull run and take Bitcoin higher than ever before?
Today’s issue of Cryptocracy explores what experts think about that, and other Bitcoin analyses.

Most of Bitcoin’s Hash Rate Comes From China
Bitcoin’s hash rate recently hit an all-time high of 117 exahashes per second. Most of that is coming out of China. Data from CoinShares indicates that BTC mining is more profitable when Bitcoin’s price is above $6,000. If that’s the case, as the price of Bitcoin goes up, it could benefit China and Chinese mining farms even more (forgive my editorializing). — NASDAQ

Bitpay Executive Predicts New High for Bitcoin in 2020
Bitpay Chief Commercial Officer Sonny Singh predicts Bitcoin will rise beyond $20,000 in 2020, its last bull market high. That’s not exactly an earth-shattering prediction, but the reason he gives for it might be stunning. Pointing to Iran’s recent shenanigans as the catalyst for the recent bump, he looks beyond the halving to “unforeseen events” as the main drivers of this price move. He doesn’t say what those unforeseen events could be. — FORBES
