Twitter Tuesday: Sam Bankman-Fried Has Been Arrested in the Bahamas
Schadenfreude runs wild and free
What’s everyone talking about on Twitter this week? Who else but … Sam Bankman-Fried, because he’s been arrested in the Bahamas.
The comments on Coffeezilla’s Twitter announcement are pure gold …
Now, I’m not one to practice schadenfreude. Okay, I won’t lie. I actually am one to practice that oh-so-human of qualities. In fact, I once wrote a poem titled “Schadenfreude”. And, modestly speaking, it’s a pretty damn good poem. I wish I had sought a publisher for it. You’ll find that poem below, a gift from me to you. Now, don’t try to claim it as your own with your expert copy/paste skills. I’ll be publishing this newsletter, along with the poem, to Cent Pages, where you can collect it as an NFT for free. That, and this publication, should be sufficient to prove ownership (and I promise not to block your IP address).
Meanwhile, here’s the Twitter announcement from U.S. Attorney Damian Williams about SBF’s arrest:
That announcement has its own set of Twitter responses, including

You have to respect the spelling nazis …
Since it will be hard to top this news today, I’m going to end it there and showcase that poem I promised:
Schadenfreude
by Allen Taylor
It is the most exhilarating joy . . . And not devilish at all. Plagued by this world’s karmic clefts, Lunging at angst like justice divined, You claim verboten. Forbidden By the gentrified elite, the kinder class, It does define the spirit of the times. Zeitgeist is ersatz for the common will, The anima of the masses. Sturm and drang Spring from sorrow. Forged on the anvil Of a hurting heart, anticipation scours the soul, Hammers the mind and kills so pure. Pleasure From pain is the sweetest medicine, And before you know what tide has swept you under, Love and honor, like a disease, go kaput.
Now let the schadenfreude run free ….
